The Open Outpost

Exploration, ecology, and storytelling. An inclusive, open-door approach to ensure the emerging generation find their thing and share their views on the issues affecting our world.

Through learning, taking action, and storytelling, we equip our Young Delegates with the skills, knowledge and platform to shape an environmental issue that matters to them.

2026 Pilot launched - sign up below for a friendly chat on the phone to find out more!

Eligibility

Young Delegates must be:

  • 18 - 24 years old

  • haven't yet found their way into something (not in employment, education or training)

  • have demonstrated a desire to take action for the environment (this can be in small ways, even just telling us you care on your application form counts)

What’s involved?

Learning - we go with our Young Field Delegates to attend talks, lectures, workshops and training and reflect on what they’ve heard

Taking action - through volunteering, giving talks, raising funds or co-delivering workshops - we work with our Young Field Delegates to find the right space to take action for them - supporting them to step out of their comfort zone and into their stretch zone (not their panic zone!)

Telling stories - through their chosen medium, shedding light on something they care about through arts, photography, writing or public speaking

Making connections - meeting other young people and professionals in relevant fields and being made aware of opportunities for further study, volunteering, apprenticeships and work
